Here are a few stories about the days I spent in Zambia and Zimbabwe from 1981 to 1991. I made my first visit to Zimbabwe in 1981, one year after independence. I was on a short contract with African Associated Mines at Gaths and King asbestos mines, Mashaba, during my second year university vacation. In 1982 my wife, two sons and I moved to the Zambian Copperbelt where I worked as a mining engineer at South Ore Body, Rhokana Mine.
